Our two-cycle, medium-speed engines are available for marine, drilling, power generation and locomotive applications. The EMD® 710 Series engine is available in 8-, 12-, 16-, and 20-cylinder configurations with continuous power ratings from 2,000 to 5,000 horsepower. Leveraging our engineering expertise and continuous investments, we have enhanced the EMD® 710 engine with advanced technologies for new and existing locomotives.  We are recognized worldwide for setting rail industry standards for performance and reliability and delivering optimized efficiency for our customers. We apply the same exceptional design process to our engines for marine, drilling or power generation usage.

NATURAL GAS SOLUTIONS

Progress Rail has developed two natural gas solutions to help our customers lower operating costs and reduce emissions. Dynamic Gas Blending (DGB) is a dual-fuel technology allowing for the seamless transition between using diesel or natural gas. Direct Injected Gas offers exceptional savings with a more than 95 percent substitution rate with the same horsepower and transients as a diesel engine.
