Fill out the online application for the job that matches your skills, experience, and interest. Resumes may be attached to your application if you choose. However, resumes mailed, e-mailed or hand-delivered to Progress Rail, or any employee will not be considered. Once you submit your online application, our Talent Acquisition Team will review it. We will contact you by phone or email if you’re selected to participate in the next steps of the employment process.
Some qualified applicants may be selected for a telephone or in-person interview. This step of the process includes comprehensive interviews that assess your experience and qualifications, and we will answer any questions you have regarding employment at Progress Rail. Depending on the job, you may also be asked to demonstrate your ability to perform certain critical, core responsibilities of the job.

As part of our process, you may be invited to undergo our background check. In addition, your work references may be contacted to verify information regarding past employment.

Our health care plan provides comprehensive, affordable medical coverage through a network of physicians, hospitals and other providers. Coverage at most facilities includes dental and vision care for employees and their families. Our health care plan is designed to fit individual needs, provide access to healthcare choices, and provide preventive coverage to all employees.
Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides professional assistance in addressing personal problems that may affect your health, job and well-being. This confidential, voluntary service is offered free of charge to employees and their dependent family members. Information, counseling and referrals are available to address work-life issues such as depression, anxiety, marital and relationship problems, alcohol and drug abuse, work performance issues, child care and elder care needs, identity theft support and legal and financial problems.
Employees may set aside pre-tax dollars in a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for eligible health care expenses not covered by the health plan. This includes items such as deductibles, co-insurance, contact lenses and vision care, prescription drugs, co-pays, dental treatment and orthodontic care.
A dependent care FSA can be used to pay for eligible dependent care expenses such as daycare for a child, home care for a dependent parent or special care for physically handicapped dependents.
Life Insurance and AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to employees, with supplemental, dependent life, long-term and short-term disability insurance available at group rates.
We provide all employees with paid time off for vacation, holidays, bereavement and jury duty. Paid time off policies vary by location.
Our 401(k) plan includes a generous company match and immediate vesting.
Our relocation benefits may include repayment agreement, miscellaneous expense allowance, broker registration, house hunting, temporary living, home sale assistance, home purchase closing costs, duplicate housing, rental assistance, final move, movement of household goods, spouse career assistance and tax assistance.
Some expenses incurred during relocation may qualify as tax deductible. Please note that not all positions are approved and available for relocation benefits. Relocation benefits are offered on an individual basis.
