BERLIN, Germany – Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company, was recently awarded a tender from Ferrovie dell’Alto Adige to upgrade ERTMSL2 on the Merano - Malles railway line, with the contract signed on 29 August 2022.
"This is the first ERTMS L2 trackside contract for Progress Rail,” commented Simone Carini, sales director for Progress Rail in Italy. “This opportunity allows us to operate our ERTMS L2 trackside and recognizes our expertise in developing new technologies for the global signaling industry.”
The project includes implementing the ERTMS L2 trackside system with custom functional specifications requested by the customer, plus renewal of the CBI system and implementation of the CTC.
