Progress Rail Receives Tender Award from RFI for ECM ETCS Level 2 Development

BERLIN, Germany – Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, is an international leader in developing and maintaining Control-Command and Signaling (CCS) and Traffic Management System (TMS) solutions for railway and mass transit systems, ranging from standalone interlocking systems to fully integrated CCS/TMS systems equipped with ERTMS/ETCS (L1 and L2/3).

The company was recently awarded a tender to supply its ECM European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 wayside product to Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (FS Italiane Group).

The ECM Radio Block Center (RBC9) system is Progress Rail’s solution for ERTMS L2/3 signaling, with the highest level of safety, compliant with Baseline 3 Release 2 of ERTMS/ETCS specifications, and with high reliability and modularity.
