Salary range - $25-30k USD per annum

Position: Accountant

Location: Abu Dhabi (UAE)

Job Purpose:

This role will serve to support the Progress Rail UAE legal entity in the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

• Month-end closing process (Journal Entries/Account Reconciliations)
• Month-end trial balance submission
• Compliance with US and local GAAP accounting standards
• Results reporting for legal entity and associated major contracts
• Customer invoicing, collections, and cash applications
• Accounts payable
• Bank account management
• Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and annual audits (financial and tax)
• Adherence to local regulations including income tax, VAT, etc.
• Submission of Caterpillar data requests (tax, VAT, etc.)
• Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years combined experience in accounting
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Understanding of basic accounting principles, US GAAP, and IFRS
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Infor LN, Microsoft AX preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or part of a team
• Ability to muti-task and meet deadlines
• Ability to collaborate with co-workers in different locations/time zones
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic
• Demonstrated skills in process improvement
• Periodic travel required (less than 10%)
