David R. Roeder

Engineering & Track Services Business Unit
David (Dave) Roeder helped establish the Track Services business unit of Progress Rail Services and has directed that part of the company since 1989, when it was Steel Processing Services. The Engineering & Track Services Business Unit supplies new and reconditioned track materials, as well as specialized equipment for both railroad and industrial use.
Dave graduated from Penn State University in 1978 with a B.S. in Finance. He joined the firm of Atlantic Track and Turnout Co. in Bloomfield, New Jersey, where he was employed as a member of its rail take-up crews from 1979 to 1981. After moving to Richmond, Illinois, in 1981, he purchased all used track material for Atlantic Track and Turnout Co. until he joined Steel Processing Services in 1989. Under his leadership and management, Steel Processing's Track Services Business Unit was established. After the 1993 acquisition of Steel Processing by Progress Rail, Dave directed the continued growth and expansion of this Business Unit.
