Tim Heilig, Senior Vice President - Customer Solutions

Tim Heilig began his career at Southern Railway, a Norfolk Southern predecessor, in June 1971 as an Intern in the MIS department. He later held positions in the Engineering, Mechanical and Transportation departments.

In his previous role as Vice President – Mechanical, Tim was responsible for Maintenance Operations (Car and Locomotive), Mechanical Staff and the Insourcing Group. He was also responsible for the acquisition, maintenance and repair of the Norfolk Southern’s motive power and rolling stock.

In 2012, Tim joined Progress Rail Services as Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions.

Tim graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 1975 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He has attended Executive Education Programs at Duke University and Northwestern University.
