Progress Rail offers both innovation and expertise to the science of rail welding. With the addition of a recent partnership with the E.O. Paton Institute, the intellectual and material resources of one of the world's foremost welding institutes, is now combined with the innovation of the American Chemotron Rail welding group.
E.O. Paton Hong Kong Limited has a long history of supplying superiourly rugged welding equipment worldwide. This Division of Progress Rail offers a full range of Mobile and stationary plant options, Containerized Welding systems for stationary welding applications, and Mobile welders mounted to rough terrain excavators capable of extended reach welding on or off track. In addition, a full range of AC powered weldheads are available for welding pre-installation rails or performing your track distressing projects.
Progress Rail's Rail Welding Division has a 50 year history of providing welding designs. Chemetron's American designed and manufactured in-plant welding systems have made over 25 million welds for Class I Railroads. The Rail Welding Division owns and operates stationary plant welding systems throughout North America. In addition, Chemtron Designed plants are owned and operated by major railroads with our engineering and manufacturing facilities closely supporting these customer owned operations.
Progress Rail Welding offers mobile contract welding services to North America with a full range of welding options. The welding design team developed the innovative mid-frequency DC flash butt welding systems, being the first in the world to deploy this proven high efficiency power system to mobile and stationary plant rail welding operations.
This year Progress Rail is excited to announce the addition of a multi-purpose welding system to our in-track fleet. This unit uses a proven AC welding system with the ability to utilize several different heads with or without the assistance of an external jacking system. With the addition of this design, Progress Rail mobile rail welding can offer our customers a truly full range of mobile welding options.
2016 is the year of innovation for Progress Rail Welding Division. Two new weldheads are under evaluation for production with the E.O. Paton division. In addition E.O. Paton is designing an extended reach mobile crane system for the Australian market. Progress Rail Welding has designed an innovative weld data collection and distribution system for our fixed plant customers. Chemetron DC and AC mobile welding systems are equipped with new dual processor PLCs. Enhanced data collection and real time evaluation of critical information is inagurated in these new control systems. In unison with the new controls, Progress Rail has updated the already advanced self-diagnostic software package. We designed these systems to equal or exceed the quality and reliability of fixed plant welds. The mobile welders combine the industry's most advanced welding technology with the reliability and consistency that is design into all Progress Rail welding systems.
Chemetron Railway Products, Inc. and the E.O. Paton Company are subsidiaries of Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company.
